Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER) launched Uber Autonomous Solutions to centralize its self-driving vehicle market initiatives. The division provides services to help autonomous vehicle (AV) developers build, commercialize, and scale technologies on Uber’s global platform.
The unit focuses on three primary pillars: infrastructure, user experience, and fleet operations. Services include access to mapping and sensor data alongside specialized in-car software for passengers.
Uber will manage fleet maintenance logistics and regulatory access for its partners. This move formalizes Uber’s strategy to act as a central mobility platform by partnering with AV developers instead of developing proprietary technology in-house.
