Uber Technologies is partnering with Zipline to launch autonomous drone delivery on the Uber Eats platform. Uber is also making an undisclosed strategic investment in the drone delivery firm. Initial deployments will begin in existing U.S. markets later this year.
The companies aim to reach one million drone deliveries per day by the end of 2029. Zipline currently operates on four continents. The firm completes a delivery every 20 seconds. Total deliveries to date exceed 2.7 million.
