Autonomous driving startup Waabi announced a funding round of approximately $1 billion, significantly accelerating its growth. The capital includes a $750 million Series C round to advance its AI-powered autonomous trucking solutions. Returning investors such as Uber, Khosla Ventures, and Nvidia participated in the financing.
The funding is highlighted by a strategic partnership with Uber, which is committing around $250 million to deploy 25,000 Waabi-powered driverless vehicles as robotaxis exclusively on its platform. This deal marks Waabi's official expansion from freight trucking into the passenger vehicle market and deepens the existing collaboration between the two companies.
