Brazilian mining giant Vale moved to remove director Marcelo Gasparino da Silva on July 22. An investigation by an independent law firm confirmed he leaked confidential information from a June 19 board meeting.

Vale classified the leak as misconduct under internal policies. The company will convene an Extraordinary Shareholders' Meeting to vote on his official removal from the board.

Gasparino has already been removed from the Nomination and Governance Committee. He was also stripped of his position on the People and Compensation Committee.
