Tata Electronics and Dutch firm ASML signed a major agreement to build India's first front-end semiconductor plant. The Indian and Dutch Prime Ministers witnessed the signing for the Dholera, Gujarat facility. ASML will provide critical lithography technology to the new manufacturing site.
Tata Electronics is investing $11 billion into the project. The facility will produce 300-millimetre wafers for the automotive, mobile, and artificial intelligence sectors.
India is pledging billions in subsidies to attract high-tech manufacturing. This collaboration aims to establish a domestic chip industry and reduce foreign manufacturing reliance.
