The Pentagon established framework agreements for the Low-Cost Containerized Munitions (LCCM) program. This initiative positions the military to acquire over 10,000 missiles.

Production is scheduled to begin in 2027. Initial agreements include Anduril, CoAspire, Leidos, and Zone 5. Test missile purchases will commence in June 2026.

The program utilizes standard shipping containers to deploy low-cost, mobile firepower. These contracts establish terms for future firm-fixed-price production deals.

Undersecretary Michael Duffey stated the program expands the U.S. defense industrial base beyond traditional contractors. The framework sends a long-term demand signal to innovative new market entrants.
