China is reviewing the purchase of approximately 500 Boeing 737 MAX jets. This development coincides with an upcoming visit by U.S. President Trump and top business leaders.

Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg will join the U.S. delegation for the trip. Ortberg characterized the visit as a meaningful opportunity for the company to secure a major deal.

The agreement would rank among the largest in Boeing's history. This would be China's first major order from the planemaker since 2017.

A bipartisan group of U.S. senators recently urged Chinese officials to finalize the long-delayed purchase. The deal remains a key component of upcoming U.S.-China diplomatic and trade discussions.
