China’s Commerce Ministry confirmed a 200-aircraft purchase from Boeing. This marks the first major order from China for the U.S. planemaker since 2017.

The agreement includes engines and spare parts. The transaction aims to ease commercial tensions between Washington and Beijing. President Donald Trump hinted at the order last week.

Boeing (BA) shares remained little changed in Wednesday morning trading. The order provides long-term visibility for production and revenue pipelines. Boeing continues efforts to increase manufacturing rates.
