GE Aerospace signed a contract with the Indian Air Force (IAF) on April 13, 2026, to establish an in-country depot facility. This facility will support F404-IN20 engines for India’s Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) fleet. The agreement advances India’s initiative for indigenous defense sustainment.
The IAF will own, operate, and maintain the new facility. GE Aerospace will provide technical expertise, training, and necessary parts. Localized operations will reduce turnaround times by eliminating overseas shipping for engine repairs.
This contract builds on a 40-year partnership between GE Aerospace and the IAF. The deal supports India’s broader aerospace ecosystem across design, manufacturing, and sustainment sectors.
