General Dynamics Land Systems, Epirus, and Kodiak AI unveiled the Leonidas Autonomous Ground Vehicle (AGV) today at the AUSA Global Force Symposium. General Dynamics serves as the lead systems integrator for the project.
The platform integrates the Epirus Leonidas high-power microwave (HPM) counter-UAS system onto a commercial truck chassis. Kodiak AI provides the autonomous driving technology to power the vehicle’s navigation.
The Leonidas AGV provides mobile defense against individual drones and coordinated swarms. This system addresses critical capability gaps identified during recent conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.
Users can deploy the vehicle to protect military bases, airports, and energy infrastructure. The system utilizes autonomous navigation or teleoperation to position itself against aerial threats without direct human intervention.
