Lockheed Martin signed a strategic agreement with the UAE’s Tawazun Council to establish a national facility for advanced chiplet design and assembly. The project was announced at the Make it in the Emirates 2026 event.

The initiative includes partnerships with UAE defense conglomerate EDGE Group and Khalifa University of Science and Technology. EDGE subsidiary HALCON will integrate the chiplet-based processors into advanced targeting and guidance systems to enhance computational power.

Khalifa University will establish a dedicated R&D center to support the program. The collaboration aims to build sovereign microelectronics capabilities and localize critical manufacturing.

The co-development model strengthens the US-UAE technology partnership and creates high-value jobs. This project bolsters industrial supply chains and positions the UAE as a globally competitive hub for next-generation defense technologies.
