Lockheed Martin signed a strategic agreement with the Tawazun Council to establish an advanced microelectronics design and assembly facility in the United Arab Emirates. The project, in partnership with EDGE Group and Khalifa University, aims to develop sovereign capabilities for chiplet-based technologies. This initiative aligns with the UAE’s goal to localize manufacturing and become a competitive hub for next-generation technology.

EDGE subsidiary HALCON will integrate these chiplet-based processors into its advanced targeting and guidance systems. The upgrade will enhance computational power for target acquisition and precision engagement.

The partnership also establishes a dedicated research and development center at Khalifa University. This facility will foster local talent and drive industrial research to strengthen the UAE’s critical technology ecosystem.
