Lockheed Martin successfully flight-tested its Extended-Range Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (ER GMLRS) on May 12, 2026. The munition traveled 112 kilometers to its target at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. This test met all predefined success criteria.
The new system more than doubles the range of the current GMLRS rocket. This enhancement provides the U.S. Army and allied forces with precision strike capabilities at significantly greater distances. The successful flight validates performance and moves the program toward operational deployment.
