Lockheed Martin and the UAE’s Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement signed an agreement to build the nation’s first advanced chiplet design and assembly facility. The partners announced the deal at the Make it in the Emirates 2026 event.

The project integrates UAE defense conglomerate EDGE and Khalifa University into the global microelectronics value chain. EDGE subsidiary HALCON will incorporate the new processors into its advanced targeting and guidance systems.

The collaboration includes a dedicated microelectronics R&D center at Khalifa University to foster local talent. This initiative aims to enhance supply chain resilience for aerospace, defense, AI, and autonomous systems.
