Lockheed Martin and the Department of War signed a framework agreement to quadruple production of Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM). This initiative aims to ensure American military overmatch and strengthen the defense industrial base. The PrSM replaces the legacy Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) with extended range and improved lethality.

The expansion follows the first confirmed combat use of the PrSM during Operation Epic Fury on March 4. The system successfully demonstrated its deep-strike capabilities during the engagement.

This agreement builds upon an existing $4.94 billion U.S. Army contract. The framework includes provisions for a potential multi-year contract lasting up to seven years. Final implementation remains contingent on future congressional authorization.
