RTX subsidiary Raytheon secured a $904.6 million contract modification from the U.S. Army. This award funds the low-rate initial production of the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense System (LTAMDS). The order includes five LTAMDS units and six spare radar systems.
These advanced radars serve as the backbone for the Army's future air and missile defense. This modification brings the total cumulative value of the contract to approximately $5.36 billion.
Raytheon will perform the work in Andover, Massachusetts. The project has an estimated completion date of August 2031. This funding supports broader Army modernization efforts and bolsters a core RTX program.
