RTX’s Raytheon division secured a $904.6 million contract modification from the U.S. Army. This award funds the low-rate initial production of five Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) units. The agreement also covers spare systems and related support.
The modification increases the total contract value to approximately $5.36 billion. The U.S. Army immediately obligated $725.9 million to address program urgency. Production will continue in Andover, Massachusetts, through August 2031.
LTAMDS provides 360-degree radar coverage to detect and engage advanced threats including hypersonic weapons. This investment supports the Army’s top modernization priorities for air and missile defense.
