The U.S. Air Force (USAF) will invest $3.36 billion to modernize its executive airlift fleet. This modernization program will span the next five years. The initiative targets the long-delayed VC-25B Air Force One replacement and other senior leadership aircraft. This plan addresses growing reliability concerns regarding the current aging fleet.
The fiscal year 2027 budget request includes funding for the VC-25B program. This program receives $1.17 billion for the Boeing 747-8 platform. Another $2.19 billion will support the acquisition of new Gulfstream jets. The Air Force plans to purchase 17 of these C-37C aircraft. These new jets will replace the existing C-37A and C-37B fleet.
This spending initiative provides long-term revenue visibility for major aerospace and defense contractors. The program represents a high-priority, stable source of government funding for military aircraft production. These investments directly benefit companies supplying and servicing critical government aviation assets.
