Lundin Mining Corp. lowered its full-year production guidance for the Caserones copper mine in Chile on August 19, 2026.
A second severe winter storm in the Atacama region re-damaged a transmission tower and caused a power outage. This weather event disrupted recovery efforts following a previous storm in July.
The company reduced its 2026 copper production forecast for Caserones to between 120,000 and 130,000 tonnes. This is a decrease from the previous guidance of 130,000 to 140,000 tonnes.
Lundin revised its total consolidated copper production guidance downward to between 300,000 and 325,000 tonnes. The company also raised cash cost estimates for the mine, signaling increased margin pressure.
