General Motors announced on July 28, 2026, that it remains Canada’s top electric vehicle seller for the first half of the year.
EV sales increased 33.4% year-over-year through June. GM vehicles accounted for more than one in five EVs registered in Canada during this period.
The Chevrolet Equinox EV, Chevrolet Bolt, and Cadillac OPTIQ all ranked among the top 10 best-selling EVs in the country.
The announcement coincided with President Donald Trump’s visit to a Michigan GM facility. Trump defended his administration’s tariff policies and their impact on the U.S. auto industry.
