ExxonMobil finalized a renewable diesel agreement with Canadian mining company Teck. ExxonMobil made its first delivery to Teck's operations in British Columbia.
The fuel, branded Esso Ethos+™ Renewable Diesel R100, is produced at the Strathcona Refinery in Canada. The Strathcona Refinery produces up to 20,000 barrels per day of lower greenhouse gas emission fuels.
The agreement advances ExxonMobil's lower-emission fuels business. The renewable diesel works in existing diesel engines without modification. It is formulated for Canada's cold weather conditions.
ExxonMobil sources bio-feedstocks from Canadian agricultural suppliers. This initiative supports Teck's goal of reducing its Scope 1 emissions.
