The San Antonio City Council will vote on a $122 million incentive package for Toyota Motor Corp. This proposal includes a 10-year property tax abatement and funding for road improvements and employee training.
Toyota plans to invest $2 billion in its South Side facility if the package is approved. The expansion would create 2,000 new jobs. Toyota aims to complete this hiring by the end of 2031.
Industry experts suggest the new assembly line may produce the Tacoma pickup. San Antonio is currently competing with several other cities to secure the investment.
