Apple and Google formally committed to a series of reforms with the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). The agreement addresses fairness concerns within mobile ecosystems and aims to create a level playing field for third-party developers.

The measures require improvements to app review processes and ranking algorithms. Apple will allow developers to request access to operating system features to ensure interoperability.

The agreement prohibits Apple from using non-public data from rival apps to advantage its own services. These changes will formally take effect on April 1, 2026.
