Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that the iPhone Air will officially launch in China next week, with pre-orders starting this Friday. The announcement was made by Cook on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, marking the start of his second visit to China in 2025. This launch follows the Chinese government's approval for commercial trials of eSIM technology, which the iPhone Air relies on exclusively. China Unicom and China Mobile have both announced they have received approval to begin commercial eSIM trials. The iPhone Air is positioned between the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro series.
