Apple has entered into a 15-year renewable Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with energy company Engie to support the development of 173 MW of new clean energy capacity in Italy. The deal facilitates the construction of two new wind farms, a wind repowering project, and two agrivoltaic plants located in Southern Italy. Scheduled to become operational between 2026 and 2027, these new projects are expected to generate over 400 GW-hours of electricity annually. Apple will receive 80% of this output to power its operations, with the remainder being supplied to the national grid. This initiative is projected to prevent more than 160,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year. This agreement marks the latest in a series of clean energy deals for Apple in Europe, aligning with the company's broader efforts to power its global operations with 100% renewable energy and achieve carbon neutrality across its entire business and supply chain.
