Apple plans to announce a new low-cost MacBook at an event in March, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. This entry-level laptop will reportedly utilize an A18 Pro chip from the iPhone lineup instead of a more expensive M-series processor. The device will feature a screen size measuring just under 13 inches.

Apple developed a new, more efficient manufacturing process for the aluminum shell to maintain a premium feel at a lower cost. The company is currently testing the hardware in a range of colors, including light yellow, green, blue, and pink.

Gurman also detailed Apple’s next major software update, iOS 27, which prioritizes performance and stability. Developers are tidying underlying code, removing legacy elements, and upgrading older applications to enhance device battery life.
