Apple will begin manufacturing its Mac mini desktop computer in the United States for the first time. Production will commence later this year at a Foxconn facility in Houston, Texas. This move represents a significant expansion of the company’s domestic operations and investment in American manufacturing.

The Houston plant will also scale up production of advanced AI servers for use in Apple’s data centers across the country. Apple will establish a new 20,000-square-foot Advanced Manufacturing Center on the campus. This center will provide specialized training in advanced production techniques.

Manufacturing of the Mac mini will continue in Asia to meet local demand. Apple shares rose 0.30% in Nasdaq pre-market trading following the announcement.
