Apple's head of user interface design, Alan Dye, is leaving the company to join competitor Meta Platforms Inc. in a move seen as a major strategic win for the social media giant. Dye, who has been instrumental in shaping the look and feel of Apple's software since 2015, including the recent 'Liquid Glass' interface and the Vision Pro headset, will now lead a new design studio at Meta focused on hardware, software, and AI. The departure marks a significant talent loss for Apple and continues a trend of executive exits from its renowned design team following the departure of Jony Ive in 2019. Apple confirmed the move and announced that veteran designer Stephen Lemay, who has been with the company since 1999, will replace Dye. This executive shake-up comes as Apple also recently announced changes in its AI leadership. Ahead of the news, Apple's stock saw a slight dip, slipping nearly 1% on the preceding day.
