Airbus has abandoned its plan to require office-based employees to work on-site four days per week. The aerospace giant will maintain its existing hybrid model, which allows for an average of two days of remote work weekly.
The policy reversal follows protests in France and industrial action at Spanish facilities. CEO Guillaume Faury initially proposed the mandate to improve collaboration and knowledge transfer among the company's many post-pandemic hires.
Opposition from unions and existing labor agreements forced the company to scrap the stricter requirements. Airbus continues to operate with a substantial workforce across its European locations.
