Airbus delivered the first of 30 A321XLR aircraft to Air Canada. This delivery makes the carrier the first to operate the new long-range, single-aisle jet in Canada. The airline will use the fleet to reduce fuel burn and enhance operational efficiency.

The A321XLR features an extended range of up to 4,700 nautical miles. This range enables direct transatlantic flights from Montreal and Toronto to destinations such as Berlin and Edinburgh.

Air Canada's configuration includes 14 full-flat premium seats. The economy cabin contains 168 seats. The aircraft features the Airbus Airspace interior design. Airbus has secured over 500 orders for the A321XLR. This order total was recorded as of March 2026.
