Airbus workers at Spanish facilities launched an indefinite strike on August 25. Employees at the Getafe, San Pablo, Tablada, and Illescas production centers rejected the company's latest contract proposal.
The CGT, UGT, and ÚTIL unions organized assemblies where a majority of workers voted for the walkout. The dispute centers on demands for wage increases tied to inflation to recover lost purchasing power.
Staff also cited dissatisfaction with negotiations regarding teleworking policies and vacation flexibility. While Airbus offered an inflation-linked raise, the workforce deemed the proposal insufficient due to vague timelines and specific amounts.
Airbus is currently evaluating the strike's impact on production schedules and customer commitments. Management remains committed to daily negotiations to reach a resolution.
