Airbus has partnered with Technip Energies, Safran, and Tereos to form a joint venture named Rebound. The partnership will develop a large-scale Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production facility in Dunkirk, France.
The facility will utilize the Alcohol-to-Jet (AtJ) technological pathway. It is projected to produce approximately 160,000 tons of SAF annually.
This output would establish the Dunkirk site as one of the largest SAF production facilities in Europe. The initiative aims to lower aviation emissions by increasing the availability of low-carbon fuels.
The project also intends to strengthen European energy sovereignty and create new employment opportunities.
