American Airlines will integrate SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet on more than 500 Airbus narrowbody aircraft. The installation process begins in the first quarter of 2027. This rollout includes existing jets and new deliveries of A321neo and A321XLR models.

The partnership provides high-speed, low-latency internet comparable to at-home broadband. Passengers can utilize the service for streaming and video calls.

This move intensifies competition among U.S. carriers to upgrade in-flight connectivity. Several major airlines have now committed to Low Earth Orbit satellite systems from providers like Starlink or Amazon’s Project Kuiper.
