Technology licensing company Adeia filed two lawsuits against AMD on November 3, 2025, alleging the infringement of 10 patents. The lawsuits claim that AMD's processors featuring "3D V-Cache" technology, including its advanced AI chips, utilize manufacturing methods patented by Adeia's predecessor, Tessera. Adeia is seeking unspecified monetary damages and a court order to halt AMD's use of the contested technology. The company's CEO noted AMD's use of this IP has significantly contributed to its market success. While pursuing legal action, Adeia has also expressed openness to reaching a "fair and reasonable arrangement" outside of court.
