Amazon.com and Wiwynn are expanding a server assembly plant in Socorro, Texas. This project increases Wiwynn’s total investment in the facility to over $1.6 billion. The expansion aims to secure Amazon’s U.S. supply chain for its cloud infrastructure.

The facility produces server systems and racks for Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers. These components support increasing demand for cloud computing and AI services.

The project will create nearly 1,000 advanced manufacturing jobs by the end of 2027. Total employment at the site will reach 2,500 next year. The workforce is expected to grow to 4,000 employees at full capacity.
