Amazon and OpenAI have launched a partnership allowing advertisers to place campaigns within the ChatGPT conversational AI platform. The deal makes ChatGPT's ad inventory available to advertisers through Amazon's Demand-Side Platform (DSP) as a managed service. This initiative is starting as a pilot program limited to select brands in the United States.

While Amazon's team will help set up and manage the campaigns, OpenAI will control all ad delivery and placement decisions through its own systems. The collaboration gives Amazon's vast network of advertisers access to a major new channel and comes as OpenAI's advertising business has reportedly reached a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate just months after its launch.
