Amazon agreed to sell its Middle East and North Africa (MENA) payment services to Saudi-based PayTabs Group. The deal value exceeds $100 million. Both companies approved the transaction, which positions PayTabs as the largest payments infrastructure provider in the region.
Amazon Payment Services currently processes online payments for over 3,500 businesses. The service operates across nine MENA countries. The platform supports global networks including Visa and Mastercard alongside local payment methods. The combined entity expects to process over SAR 150 billion ($39.9 billion) in annual transactions.
This acquisition marks the latest expansion for PayTabs as it scales regional capabilities. Amazon is executing a strategic realignment of its assets within the growing MENA market. Markets have shown no significant reaction to the announcement.
