Booking.com faces a potential £2 billion collective claim in the UK for allegedly inflating accommodation costs. Consumer champion Chris Warner filed the proposed case with the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
The lawsuit argues that price parity clauses illegally prevented hotels from offering lower rates on their own websites. These restrictions allegedly forced UK consumers to pay more for hotel and holiday bookings.
If the tribunal approves the case, millions of UK customers could automatically join the claim for compensation. This legal action specifically represents consumers and remains separate from a case brought by the Bed & Breakfast Association.
