Disney’s ABC network launched an on-air campaign Monday urging viewers to oppose two Federal Communications Commission (FCC) investigations. The broadcaster frames these regulatory actions as a direct threat to free speech.

The FCC initiated an early review of broadcast licenses for all eight Disney-owned local ABC stations. Disney describes this move as unlawful, arbitrary, and unconstitutional.

Regulators are also investigating whether the daytime talk show The View violates equal-time rules for political candidates. Disney maintains the program is a bona fide news show and remains exempt from such regulations.

The FCC chairman stated the license review relates to Disney’s diversity and inclusion policies. Critics argue the agency is pursuing politically motivated retaliation for coverage critical of former President Trump.

The on-air spots direct viewers to the FCC’s public comment website. These advertisements are currently running in major markets including New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
