Equinor signed a 15-year agreement to supply natural gas to German energy firm Uniper.

The Norwegian energy giant will deliver more than 30 terawatt-hours of gas annually. This volume equals approximately 2.8 billion cubic meters per year.

Deliveries begin on January 1, 2027. The contract remains in effect through December 31, 2041.

Supplies will reach the German gas market area, Trading Hub Europe, at market-based prices.

The contract reinforces Norway’s position as Germany’s primary gas supplier following the reduction of Russian exports.

Both companies also signed a non-binding letter of intent to explore lower-emission gas solutions. This includes the potential sale of sustainability-related attributes linked to the gas supplies.
