Equinor commenced production at the Troll Phase 3 Stage 2 project on August 22. The launch occurred ahead of the original year-end schedule. Total costs finished several hundred million Norwegian kroner below the NOK 12.3 billion budget. Management attributed the savings to highly efficient drilling and marine operations.

This expansion accelerates the extraction of 55 billion standard cubic meters of gas. This volume equals nearly two years of natural gas demand in France. The Troll field currently supplies approximately 10% of Europe’s total gas requirements.

The development supports sustained high export volumes from Norway to European markets. It also extends the operational lifespan of the Troll A platform.
