Ford Motor Company’s U.S. electric vehicle sales fell 71% in February compared to the previous year. The company sold 2,122 EVs during the month. This total marks a sharp decline from the 7,326 units sold in February 2025.

Sales of the flagship F-150 Lightning electric pickup dropped 76.3% to 522 units. Ford's year-to-date EV sales have decreased by 70.3%.

The Model e EV division reported a $4.8 billion loss for the full year of 2025. Ford projects further losses between $4 billion and $5 billion for 2026.

The company is shifting its strategy away from high-end electric vehicles to focus on hybrid models and a new low-cost electric platform. This transition includes the discontinuation of the F-150 Lightning.
