The Honda CR-V overtook the Ford F-150 as America’s best-selling vehicle in the first half of 2026. Honda sold 226,114 CR-Vs during this period. Ford sold an estimated 209,311 F-150 units.

A late 2025 fire at a key aluminum supplier’s plant caused the production decline. The disruption limited the supply of aluminum body panels for several months. Ford lost an estimated tens of thousands of units in production. Total U.S. sales for Ford fell by 10% in the first half of the year.

The F-Series lineup remains the top-selling truck line when including Super Duty models. Ford expects supply to normalize in the second half of 2026. The supplier has officially resumed operations.
