Ford Motor Company is recalling approximately 1.74 million vehicles in the United States due to malfunctioning backup cameras. The affected models include the Bronco, Edge, Escape, and Lincoln Corsair. An Accessory Protocol Interface Module in these vehicles can overheat, causing the rearview display to fail or show distorted images.
In a separate safety action, Ford is recalling more than 604,000 SUVs for potential windshield wiper motor failure. This recall covers 2020-2022 Ford Explorer and Escape models, alongside the Lincoln Aviator and Corsair. The defect may significantly reduce driver visibility.
These recalls arrive as Ford reports a 5.5% decline in overall U.S. sales for February. Electric vehicle sales experienced a notable 71% drop during the same period.
