Ford Motor Company issued recalls for more than 6.7 million vehicles in North America on March 9, 2026.
The largest action affects 4.3 million vehicles, including F-Series pickups, due to a software defect that disables trailer brakes and turn signals. Ford plans to resolve the F-Series issue through an over-the-air software update.
The automaker is also recalling over 2.3 million SUVs for two distinct mechanical and electronic issues. Nearly 1.7 million Bronco and Edge models require repairs for faulty backup camera modules. Approximately 413,000 Explorer SUVs are being recalled because rear suspension toe links may fracture and increase crash risks.
These actions compound Ford's persistent quality control challenges and rising warranty expenses.
