Ford is developing an affordable electric pickup truck with a target price of approximately $30,000 for a 2027 release.
The vehicle will debut the Ford Universal Electric Vehicle (UEV) Platform. This architecture uses only two structural parts, representing a significant reduction from the 146 parts found in the current Maverick truck.
Ford will utilize Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery chemistry to further lower manufacturing costs. Doug Field, Ford’s chief EV, digital, and design officer, confirmed the platform will also introduce next-generation BlueCruise ADAS hardware and software starting in 2027.
