Ford announced a new integrated AI assistant and the next generation of its BlueCruise hands-free driving technology at the CES 2026 technology conference. The updated BlueCruise system is a significant step in the company's autonomous driving roadmap and will be accompanied by a new in-car AI to enhance the user experience.
The new generation of BlueCruise hardware and software will be 30% cheaper to build than the current technology and is scheduled to debut in 2027 on Ford's upcoming affordable electric vehicle platform. This development is part of Ford's strategy to offer full Level 3 "eyes-off" autonomous driving capabilities in its vehicles by 2028.
