General Motors is recalling 271,770 Chevrolet Malibu sedans.

The recall affects vehicles from the 2023-2025 model years.

A notice filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) identifies a defect where rearview camera screens display distorted or blank images. This malfunction reduces driver visibility and increases the risk of a crash while reversing.

General Motors instructed dealers to inspect and replace the rearview cameras on all affected vehicles at no cost to owners.
