General Motors is reviving the GMC Jimmy as a body-on-frame SUV. The model targets the Ford Bronco and Toyota 4Runner. GM restarted the project due to strong demand for off-road vehicles.
The Jimmy shares its platform with the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. The vehicle likely features a 2.7-liter TurboMax engine. This engine produces 310 horsepower. The powertrain delivers 430 lb-ft of torque.
The revived SUV is at least two years away from the market. This move targets the profitable off-road enthusiast segment.
