General Motors faces a class-action lawsuit in Washington State regarding its Cadillac Lyriq electric vehicle. Owners and lessees allege the luxury SUV suffers from significant defects that can make it nonfunctional, unable to start, charge, or operate properly.

The complaint claims GM identified these issues during pre-release testing and other internal data but continued marketing the vehicle at premium prices. Plaintiffs are requesting a jury trial to resolve the matter.

GM reported sales of 3,370 Lyriq vehicles in the first quarter of 2026. Market analysts have not yet reported a widespread reaction analysis.
